Offered again this summer in Providence - integrated right into the regular program hours!

Moving to Learn
Movement activities to enhance such areas as spatial orientation, directionality, motor coordination, balance and sensory integration to nurture these important physical foundations for learning.

At Our Summer Programs, one can expect:

Low Teacher/Student Ratio
Each class is kept deliberately small (4-6 students per teacher) to ensure individualized attention.

Experienced Director and Staff
Our summer school directors select experienced, dynamic, qualified teachers who approach teaching in a multisensory, systematic, individualized way.

Self-Esteem
Even the most reluctant summer students quickly discover the power of meeting and befriending other students who share their struggles and strengths; by day two, under the guidance of caring, energetic, knowledgeable teachers, they realize learning can be fun and accessible. Ultimately, they begin to understand how intelligent and talented they really are.

Reference Notebook
Each student comes away with a "portfolio" of their summer work, including reminders of the strategies used.

Full Progress Report
(for three-, four-, and six-week students) Identifies specific strengths, tracks progress and suggests areas on which to concentrate, with helpful follow-through ideas, such as program recommendations and family activities to reinforce concepts.

Tutor Referrals
Access to a wide range of experienced local tutors for those who want to continue the work started for a comprehensive year-round plan.

Financial Aid
Applications are available upon request by calling us at (401) 723-4459.

Summer Reading Skills Classes

Groups of three or four children work together to improve phonics, word identification skills, fluency, and reading comprehension, with an emphasis on reading strategies. Reading materials focus on fiction and nonfiction, and students respond to these texts through discussions and writing.
